Tales of a Female Nomad: Living at Large in the World

Ahh, so I am absolutely engrossed in this book called Tales of a Female Nomad: Living at Large in the World. The second day I arrived in New Zealand a girl I went out with for a night told me I should read it along with the Alchemist. It stuck with me the whole 2.5 months and for a good reason. It's a fantastic book that reminds me, through intricate details and stories, how incredible traveling is. My favorite quote in the book is when the main character says in response to doubters:
"No I'm not running away. On the contrary I've discovered a new way to live. My life is endlessly fascinating, filled with learning, adventure, interesting people, new and enlightening experiences. I laugh, sing, and dance more than I ever have. I am becoming the person inside me. My life also offers opportunities to give as well. Wherever I am in the world, I read to children, visit classrooms, teach engish, and bring food and laughter into homes. And on top of all that, I'm existing on less than 10,000 a year, including airfares. I'm embracing life, not running away from it. why would I want to stop?"
So far I've read about her travels in Isreal, the Galapagos, Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador. Next she's going to the forests of Borneo. I dont think I can fall asleep until I read the rest of the book! Ma, I found her trick is that she travels during the summer months so she can give attention to her kids who are in college during the year ;)
I went on a hike today with friends in Big Basin near Santa Cruz. It was nice to be in nature and with company.

To clarify things. She only travels during the summer? Laughs, sings and dances only during the summer? Works during the school year in the states? Perhaps a teacher and saves all but 10,000.

Nature can really ground a person. Today I saw about 7 small birds play in the sand outside on the patio. That was real beautiful.
